Extreme Dance Company

Graphics created for show shirts and programs, as well as social media use.

The Project As Public Relations Chair for Extreme Dance Company, one of my responsibilities was to create a show design for our fall and spring recitals. The designs are made to showcase the themes and printed on show shirts distributed to the company and programs given to audience members who attend the show. The fall showcase theme was "Road Trip Across the USA" and the spring showcase theme was "Out of This World." The Rundown The designs needed to be intriguing while presenting the showcase theme in a way that others will understand. This needed to be combined with the selection of the show shirt color, as well. Through the drafts created and input from the rest of the officer board, it was important to find a design that everyone was please with to present to the rest of the company. The Approach The creation of the show designs was not just to establish the feeling of the show, but it was important to incorporate aspects of the show into the design. In the fall design, I wanted to have the stops align with the dances and their titles/themes. As for the overall idea, I wanted it to be bright and colorful to represent the excitement and exploration of a road trip. The car was also included to add another detail. Furthermore, the spring design does the same thing, including the planets and other space aspects that the dances were inspired by. I was inspired by the retro space posters that have a cartoon-like look to them.

Logo Development

Logos created for a school and outside project.

The Project Mango Island Paperscapes belongs to a local artist who I worked with to develop a new logo. They told me what they were looking for and I proceeded to work through a series of sketches to find something they liked. Lingo Link was a group project where I established the branding of the app. Lingo Link is a language learning app that encourages real connections between beginners and native speakers, so I wanted the logo to represent that. The Rundown and Approach The designs for Mango Island Paperscapes went through a trial or something more literal versus something that encompassed the beachy aesthetic of the brand and their art. I went through an orange and pink color scheme for the final two logos, and the owner ended up leaning more towards the pink and beach details. Logo Link aimed to highlight the connection that would be formed, so it was important to include this in the logo. It went through different variations once the assets were settled on, as well as different color variations, before ending up with the final logo.
